Queen Of The South – Netflix Review πŸ’—

Another little Netflix review! 2 seasons currently on Netflix.

The story is based around Teresa Mendoza and her journey from bottom of the food chain to top of the Mexican Cartel.

I have to admit I love a series or film with a girl boss leading the way! There’s something empowering about seeing a woman doing just as well as a man would leading a cartel.

The series starts with Teresa meeting her boyfriend who is a drug dealer for the Vargas Cartel, and ends up getting killed and Teresa’s only way out is to run.

She ends up getting stuck as a drug mule in Dallas, working for Camilla Vargas, wife of Epifanio leader from the Mexican side. Teresa then gets caught up in the war between husband and wife, when Camilla finds out Epifanio wants Teresa dead.

You follow her journey from drug mule to partner in the business, you find yourself routing for Teresa all the way through, sometimes I felt like I wanted to scream at the IPad ‘that’s my girl’ when she does something haha!

I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who is faint of heart, as it is quite graphic. Luckily a little blood doesn’t bother me LOL!

There are a lot of twists in the story but I don’t want to give too much away. I cant wait for season 3 as I want to Teresa go out and do it on her own and become Queen of the South!
