How are you all doing? How are you coping?
We are still in lockdown, its been just over 3 months and I have been a bad blogger and haven’t sat and written any blog posts.
I am still fortunately working from home currently and no idea when I will get back into the office.
I thought I would share with you what books I have got through so far in lockdown, I thought it would be better to do a post like this as I haven’t blogged in so long *face palm*
Christmas Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
First book is a book I actually got for Christmas and only just got round to reading it. This is part of the shopaholic series written by Sophie Kinsella. I have read the previous books but I do plan on re-reading them as its been a while. The original confessions of a shopaholic was made into a film starring Isla Fisher it’s one of my favourites, Isla played an amazing Becky Bloomwood. This book sees Becky being left in charge of hosting Christmas Day. Becky not only struggles with organising as she classes the big day but some family dramas also occur which could change everything! Brilliant book another shopaholic dream!
Chocolate Wishes by Trisha Ashley
My local shopping centre has like a small shelving unit known as the free library and you can pick up books and also leave books for others to read. I have left a few of my unwanted books there and this is the first book I have ever picked up from there. Currently during Covid we are unable to do this so me and my mum have some books to one side ready to go when its up and running again. This is the first book I have read by Trisha Ashley, the story follows Chloe and her business of Chocolate Wishes. Chocolate wishes are hollow chocolate angels with little messages inside kind of like a fortune cookie. Its actually quite hard to explain the whole story of the book its kind of all over the place. Chloe lives with her grandad, her aunt and her brother. Her Grandad is a warlock and runs a coven, her aunt is into tarot cards. It’s all quite random, the beginning of the book is really slow, it gets better in the middle then the ending all seems rather rushed. I had a look on good reads when I added it to my reading challenge and people have said the same as me. It’s an ok read but nothing to shout about unfortunately.
Let It Go – A Frozen Twisted Tale by Jen Calonita
Another Disney twisted tale, this time following the story of Frozen, the twist what if Anna and Elsa never knew each other? When I first see it I did wonder how they were going to work the twist in, but they did so really well. I was hooked from the start with this one, some of the twisted tales are really hit or miss. This one I got into straight away, without giving too much away this was really thought out and covered all the characters you would need to keep the Frozen story alive! Would recommend!
Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
My latest read another by Sophie Kinsella. I finished this book in 2 days and it has been so long since I really got hooked on a book that I couldn’t put down. This is another pick up from the free library shelves. This story follows Lexi who while out with her friends falls down some stairs and blacks out, when she wakes up she is in hospital and its apparently 3 years later! Read with Lexi trying to piece her life together over the last 3 years, find out where her friends are, all about her husband! (which she didn’t have before!) and amazing career. This is written so well you just have to keep reading to see what Lexi is going to find out next. Highly recommend!
So there you have it, that’s my latest reads all rolled into one! I’m on 7 out of 20 of my good read challenge my first ever which is why I only give myself a target of 20 to read this year.
Hopefully I may have given you some inspiration on some books to read while on lockdown.
